Yuta Okkotsu is the grandfather of Yuka and Tsurugi Okkotsu, and one of the most celebrated sorcerers in post-Sukuna history. Originally a Special Grade sorcerer haunted by the spirit of his childhood friend Rika Orimoto, Yuta went on to become a cornerstone of the new jujutsu order following the Culling Game. He later married Maki Zenin and had a son, Iori, who would himself father the Okkotsu twins. Yuta passed away of old age before the events of Modulo, but his legacy permeates the entire series — Rika's ring, passed down to Yuka, serves as the emotional core of the siblings' rivalry and their connection to their grandfather's memory. In the Ritual of Harmony, his residual cursed energy — preserved across decades and channeled through Mahito's Idle Transfiguration — becomes the mechanism by which coexistence is made structurally permanent. Yuta saves the world again, posthumously, through the love he left in objects and people.
